Benefits of Massage Therapy
We have a sweet opportunity for you - a 60 minute massage for $90. Enjoy the mobility work, pain relief, and stress detox of body work with our very own Maria, nestled by our hearth at Numi. Starting September 2017, Maria will be around Friday afternoons, alternating Wednesday mornings, and some Saturdays to help you care for your body. Click below to save your spot.
What To Expect On Your First Visit
While booking your massage therapy appointment through our online booking link, you will also have to complete a client intake form online. Please make sure to be as thorough as possible on your intake form so Maria is aware of any contraindications ahead of time.
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes early to your first appointment to discuss your intake form and have any questions answered. Each appointment is set for 60 minutes and arriving on time will ensure that we utilize the full time for your massage and not disrupt the person scheduled after you.
You will discuss with Maria in person what type of massage you prefer and what areas of the body you would like to focus on. Maria will also explain how proper draping works and answer any other questions you may have.
Please be mindful of others' time and stay in touch. We allow for a reschedule with 24 hours notice.
About Maria
Maria Sakaria has graduated as a Licensed Massage Therapist from Anne Arundel Community College Therapeutic Massage Program and has been providing therapeutic massages to patients at a Chiropractor’s clinic since 2016.
She specializes in Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, PNF Stretching and Prenatal Massage. She also teaches various classes of yoga and she tries to incorporate yoga-like stretches to her massages to prolong the benefits of therapeutic massage and help those with chronic soft tissue dysfunction.
She brings compassion, a nurturing touch and attention to proper alignment in her teaching as well as her massages. Don’t be surprised if after your massage you receive a list of stretches as your homework to manage soreness, pain or any discomfort that accompanies our misaligned postural habits.
Maria is also a certified and insured yoga instructor, registered with Yoga Alliance. She holds the following designations: 500RYT and 85RPYT (Prenatal).
