YoKids teacher training
March 9, 10, 16 + 17th at Numi Yoga
Join Roni Z., YoKids teacher trainer, for 20 hours of immersion into the playful, mindful, and wonderful world of teaching yoga to kids. These courses will be great for parents, teachers, childcare workers, or yoga instructors who want to have a toolkit of games, activities, and stories to bring yoga teachings into the lives of kids.
See schedule of sessions below. The two Saturday sessions are progressive and build upon the Philosophy class.
Yoga Philosophy and Sutras for Children: Yoga for ALL Children
Friday, March 9: 6-9pm
Yoga Philosophy & Yoga Sutras, Chakras, Pranayama, Meditation, Yoga Nidra & Guided Relaxation for Kids Learn fundamental yoga philosophy and how it pertains to children. In this segment of the training you will also learn ways to teach guided relaxation, pranayama, and meditation to school-aged children in grades K-12. This session is a prerequisite for K-5th Grade Yoga.
Teaching K-5th Grade Yoga
Saturday, March 10: afternoon sessions with a meal break
K-5th: Developmental Stages, Behavior Management, Teaching Strategies & Methodology for your yoga classroom. Our practical and informative training will provide you with what you need to teach traditional and non-traditional poses and teach you age appropriate language and methods for creating a fun, yet calming environment for kids. You will also learn effective methods of classroom management and stages of child development in order to modify, differentiate, and make your instruction appropriate for all children. This session is a prerequisite for 6th-12th Grade Yoga.
Creative Toolbox for Kids Yoga: Games, Stories, and More!
Friday, March 16: 6-9pm
This session is a stand alone bonus to the coursework of the other three sessions. If you work with kids or already teach kids yoga, come to gain some extra tools for yoga in your setting.
Teaching 6th-12th Grade Yoga
Saturday March 17: afternoon sessions with a meal break
6th-12th: Developmental Stages, Behavior Management, Teaching Strategies & Methodology for your yoga classroom. Inspired by the Ashtanga primary series, you will learn to teach traditional hatha poses, and partner poses, that you can use in your yoga classroom. This Ashtanga teen series will give you the foundation you need to create a fun, yet calming and relaxing environment for teens. Participants must take the Philosophy and K-5th Grade courses as prerequisites for the teen session.
